The YES BANK CEO was awarded by the Maharashtra government for his sustained effort to support the development of the state.
Dr Rana Kapoor, founder and CEO, YES BANK, and Chairman, YES Global Institute, was recently felicitated by Maharashtra Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his ‘commitment to the development of the state of Maharashtra’.
He was honoured at the Maharashtra Vaibhav event organised at the Raj Bhavan on the occasion of the 57th Maharashtra Day.

Speaking about the recognition, Kapoor said, “It is a great honour, and I feel humbled to have received this prestigious recognition by the Maharashtra government. The state of Maharashtra has been my ‘karma bhoomi’ for more than 25 years, and this recognition encourages me to strive further to contribute towards its sustained development.”
Kapoor, whose YES BANK has been at the forefront of corporate social responsibility to support India’s socioeconomic development, vowed to continue the work. “I take this opportunity to reiterate YES BANK’s commitment towards working for India’s social and economic development agenda, with our knowledge banking focus on promoting and augmenting India’s employment-driven sunrise sectors,” he said.

Kapoor has been instrumental in accelerating action towards global sustainable development goals, including tackling climate change, clean water and energy, eliminating poverty and contributing towards building a more equitable society. Under his leadership, YES BANK recently made a notable contribution to the state by providing access to safe and clean drinking water to over 9,000 households for the last-mile implementation in Raigad, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli. Apart from this, the organisation is also committed to making MSMEs energy efficient and promoting responsible youth citizenship in India.
Sustainability has been an integral part of YES BANK’s ethos, embedding it into business strategy and treating environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance on a par with financial performance. Since its inception, it has proactively contributed to strengthen the financial ecosystem in Maharashtra, with a large branch network of 173 branches in the state, of which 65 are catering to rural financial needs. It has also helped create over 12,000 new jobs.
